Assemble at the airport and depart for Copenhagen, Denmark's capital, that sits on the coastal islands of Zealand and Amager.
Upon your arrival, find out why people call it “wonderful Copenhagen” by going on a city tour and take in the sights of the famous amusement park Tivoli Gardens, the City Hall Square, Hans Christian Andersen Statue, and Christiansborg Palace. Stop by the Little Mermaid sculpture, which was inspired from the fairytale and the mystical Gefion Fountain. If traffic conditions are fair, we will make an additional pit stop at Nyhavn for some picturesque photos. After which, we will take an overnight cruise to Oslo, the capital of Norway. Note: If the overnight cruise is not available, it will be replaced by domestic flight from Copenhagen to Oslo instead and you will stay an additional night in Copenhagen without incurring any extra charges.
Begin your exploration of the city by visiting the City Hall that is covered with a rainbow of motifs depicting the Norwegian history, culture and lifestyles, as well as the neo-classical structure of the Royal Palace. Last but not least, the Vigeland Sculpture Park is one attraction worth seeing, the life's work of sculptor Gustav Vigeland that features more than 200 life-sized sculptures in bronze, granite and cast iron. In the afternoon, take a scenic drive via the Hallingdal Valley to reach Geilo, a town in southern Norway, which is known for its ski resorts and mountain trails.
Today, we will make a stop at Vøringfossen, the 83rd highest waterfall in Norway for a photostop before continuing to the Hardangerfjord region, the second longest fjord in Norway. The Hardangerfjord is 179 km long and greatest depth is 900 meters. The definition of a fjord is a long, narrow inlet from the sea with steep sides or cliffs, created by glacial erosion during the ice ages. Arrive Bergen, a large Norwegian city with a small-town charm. Your exploration begins with a Bergen city tour - soak up the sights and sounds of the bustling Fish Market in the heart of the city; wander along the narrow alleyways and step into the smorgasbord of shops and galleries in Bryggen; and take the Fløibanen funicular to the top of Mount Fløyen for a fantastic bird's-eye view of the city.
Travel to the region of Voss, consider an optional train ride by the Flåm Railway, and embark on the most incredible train journey where you will be treated to endless panoramas of placid rivers, deep ravines, cascading waterfalls, and mountain farms clinging precariously to snow-capped peaks. You will embark on a 2-hour sightseeing cruise within Gudvangen and Flam on the pristine waters of Nærøyfjord and prepare to be blown away by that spectacular vistas displayed before your very eyes. Nærøyfjord, is the world's narrowest fjord and is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. Transfer to Skei for an overnight stay.
We will take a scenic sightseeing cruise across the deep blue waters of this UNESCO World Heritage Site, Geirangerfjord. The fjord offers archetypal scenery, encircled by high mountains, where abandoned farms cling to the hillsides. The trip between Geiranger and Hellesylt takes in the Knivsflå Waterfalls, known as the Seven Sisters and Friaren (the Suitor). You will also sail close to the Brudesløret (Bridal Veil) falls. Along the Geirangerfjord, you will experience the very best of Norwegian nature, close up. Drive along Ørnevegen ("the Eagle Road’), name given to the steepest part of the road up the mountainside from Geiranger to Eidsdal, 620 metres above sea level. Here, the road twists through eleven hairpin bends as it climbs up to Stigrøra, 858 metres above sea level. The road is carved into the mountain and supported by stone walls. An impressive bridge carries the road across the Stigfossen waterfall. On this road, even the bravest can feel the adrenaline pumping through their veins. The Trollstigen platform and two viewpoints are designed by Reiulf Ramstad Architects. From the top, well protected against the elements by steel and glass, you can see all the way down the mountainside. The structure is designed so that it blends in with the surroundings. Some parts are carved into the rock, whilst other parts are built on stone walls. Transfer to Oppland County for a pleasant night in the Norwegian countryside. Note: Trollstigen platform will only be available subject to road conditions.
Winter sports enthusiasts will rejoice as we head to the site of the 1994 Winter Olympics, Lillehammer. Make a pit stop at the Lysgårdsbakken Ski Jumping Arena for some magnificent photos from the top of the tower, before exploring Lillehammer on your own. We will then arrive at Gardermoen for the night.
Cross the border to Sweden and reach Karlstad, a city on the Klarälven River in Värmland County, Sweden. It's known for the neighbouring Lake Vanern to the south. The Old Stonebridge is the country's longest Stonebridge and one of Karlstad's most photographed locations. We pass Örebro, a beautiful town in the very heart of Sweden before reaching Stockholm for the night.
Kick off the day with a tour of Stockholm, which brings you first to the Stockholm City Hall. The three crowns perched atop the 106-metre-tall tower forms a silhouette that is instantly recognisable within the city. This romantic structure also hosts the prestigious Noble Prize banquets in its Blue and Golden Halls, with the latter featuring 19 million gold mosaic tiles. Continue on to the Old Town to view magnificent structures of the Cathedral and the Royal Palace. Explore Stockholm at your leisure till it is time to board and overnight cruise that will take you to Helsinki, capital of Finland.
Once you arrive, embark on a sightseeing tour around the alluring Helsinki. Drive past the bustling Market Square and absorb the scents, sounds, and the atmosphere, then drop by the Senate Square for a unique and cohesive spread of neoclassical architecture, where you can take in the sights of the Helsinki Cathedral, the Government Palace, the National Library of Finland and the main building of the University of Helsinki all in one place. Continue to the Sibelius Monument, a structure resembling organ pipes that was dedicated to the world famous composer Jean Sibelius. Last but not least, visit the Temppeliaukio Church, where the interior walls were created naturally by rock, giving rise to its nickname as the ‘Rock Church’. Explore Helsinki on your own and uncover the sights of this lively seaside city. Afterwards, collect your packed dinner and board the express train that will take you to St. Petersburg, the second largest city in Russia.
Embark on a city tour to St. Petersburg including the Palace Square, the Cathedral of St Issac, the Peter and Paul Fortress, the Admiralty and the Nevsky Prospekt, which is the most famous shopping street in the city. Pay a visit to Peterhof, an imperial estate situated just west of St. Petersburg - often referred to as the ‘Russian Versailles’. Marvel at the magnificent palaces and their richly decorated interiors, and beautiful fountains adorned with gilded statues of ancient Greek and Roman gods and goddesses that are so grand in scale that they will leave you agape with wonder. The State Hermitage Museum is the next on the must visit list. It comprises of five buildings that were formerly the residence of the Tsars. Home to one of the finest art collections in the world, the bulk of the vast collection can be found in the Grand Winter Palace.
Board a high-speed train that will take you to Moscow, the capital of Russia, in comfort. Embark on a Moscow Metro tour to one of the world’s most elaborate transport systems and discover for yourself why Moscow’s Metro is also known for being the most beautiful railway. Next, go on a sightseeing tour of the unique Russian city, which will take you to the Red Square, St. Basil’s Cathedral, the GUM Department Store and Lenin’s Tomb. As dusk falls, prepare for a night of entertainment with a performance by the world-famous Moscow State Circus. Note: Moscow State Circus performance is subject to availability. If the performance is not available, it will be replaced by an alternative program.
Join an excursion to the Moscow Kremlin and the Kremlin Cathedrals. Today’s Kremlin was built in the 15th century by Italian Architechts after the seat of the Orthodox Church moved to Moscow. The reconstruction of cathedrals and chapels of that time shaped the modern appearance of the Kremlin. The Cathedral Square is the center of the Kremlin with the Cathedrals of Assumption, Announciation and Archangel Mikhail as its main sights opened for visitors. The Moscow Kremlin is also famous for the curious couple of the Tsar Bell and the Tsar Cannon designed for the amusement of the Russian Tsars.
Enjoy the rest of the day free at your leisure till it is time to transfer to the airport for your flight home.
We hope you enjoyed your vacation with our company and we look forward to seeing you again for your next trip.
