Travel through historic cities and pristine port towns on your way to the Normandy coast. Visit Rouen, capital of Normandy, home to a large 16th century Gros Horloge (Great-Clock) and the gothic, two-towered Rouen Cathedral. Walk through the Old Market Square where Joan of Arc was executed.

Visit Fecamp, a coastal town north of Le Havre, and explore its beaches, museums, and churches. Then, travel to Etretat, a farming and tourism village, and marvel at its stunning chalk cliffs, including the iconic “pointed needle” and three arches. Finally, head to Honfleur, the gem of Normandy, at the mouth of the Seine River. Wander along the cobblestone streets and admire the medieval, half-timbered Saint Catherine’s Church.

Travel through Bocage country to explore the striking 8th-century island of Mont-Saint-Michel. See how the UNESCO-recognized site, perched high on a granite rock, is surrounded by water at high tide and quicksand at low tide. Pass by medieval houses and then enter the Benedictine Abbey of Mont-Saint-Michel with your local guide. Next, drive along the Brittany region’s Emerald then continue your journey toward the Saint-Malo.

This morning, get a look at Saint- Malo Cathedral and Château de Saint-Malo, originally a symbol of ducal and royal power which now houses a museum covering the long maritime history of Saint-Malo, the WWII Occupation as well as the destruction and reconstruction of the town. Spend a free afternoon in Brittany or join an excursion to Cancale, the oyster capital. Visit an oyster farm, taste different Breton oysters with wine, and enjoy some free time before back to St Malo.

Visit the most famous castle in the region, Château de Chambord, commissioned by King Francis I and designed by Leonardo da Vinci. It is the largest and most majestic castle of the Loire, a symbol of the French Renaissance and the power of a ruler who loved the arts. Have a free evening in the Loire Valley or join an excursion to Tours, one of France’s classical cathedral cities.
