Assemble at the airport for your flight to Vancouver, the largest metropolitan area in Western Canada and the third-largest in the country. Upon arrival, embark on a Vancouver city tour. Begin with a visit to Granville Island, a bustling hub of tourism and entertainment, where you can explore the vibrant market filled with local crafts and gourmet treats. Continue to Gastown, Vancouver’s historic district, and stop by the iconic Steam Clock, a partially steam-powered vintage timepiece. Next, visit the Stanley Park, a renowned urban oasis with picturesque beaches and trails. Next, head to LuLu Island Winery, the largest winery in Metro Vancouver, to enjoy wine tasting and pick up some souvenirs. Conclude the tour with a delightful shopping spree at McArthur Glen Designer Outlet, featuring prestigious designer labels like Armani and Coach. Afterward, transfer to your hotel for check-in and rest.
After breakfast, enjoy a free day to explore Vancouver or opt for an excursion to Victoria, the capital of British Columbia. In Victoria, visit the iconic Butchart Gardens, renowned for its stunning landscapes, and stroll through the charming downtown area. If staying in Vancouver, continue exploring its vibrant attractions, from the cosmopolitan downtown area to scenic waterfront parks.
Depart Vancouver and take a domestic flight to Yellowknife, the capital city of the Northwest Territories. Known for its spectacular Aurora Borealis, Yellowknife is your gateway to the Arctic’s wonders. Upon arrival, check in to the hotel and prepare for the first of three nights chasing the mesmerizing Northern Lights. Venture out to the shores of Great Slave Lake, where a cozy wood-stove cabin awaits. Warm up with snacks and hot beverages as you gaze at the celestial dance of the Aurora in the pristine Arctic night.
Today, get ready for incredible experience – dog sledding through the Boreal Forest with Alaskan husky dogs! Drink in the majestic scenery as you take off on a thrilling ride with your team of dogs through the seemingly untouched wilderness. Afterwards, discover the culture of the Northwest Territories in the beautiful city of Yellowknife as you visit the Legislative Assembly, Prince of Wales Northern Heritage Centre, and the Frontier Visitor Centre. Then, go on a scenic drive through downtown and the iconic Old Town to the Pilot's Monument, where you can take in a panoramic view of Yellowknife. After dinner, embark on an exciting drive on Dettah Ice Road (subject to weather conditions), home to the Dene community. Spend 3 to 4 hours watching out for the spectacular Northern Lights on the shoreline of the Great Slave Lake in a cosy wood-stove cabin, where you can tuck into some authentic northern snacks and hot beverages. Enjoy a traditional aboriginal drumming performance as you learn more about the Dene people and their way of life through history, language, and connection to the land. And if Lady Luck is on your side, you’ll have an amazing light show to remember.
After breakfast, embark on a unique ice fishing experience on Great Slave Lake, the deepest lake in North America. Fish through a drilled hole while enjoying stunning winter views and take the opportunity to learn professional ice fishing techniques. Afterwards, enjoy a light fish feast in the cabin on the island. As dusk arrives, make your way to the designated Aurora Viewing location, which boasts a specially designed sky-deck observatory, as you enjoy watching for the Aurora Borealis in comfort right in the Arctic.
In the morning, depart from Yellowknife to Calgary on a domestic flight. Upon arrival, transfer to Banff by a comfortable coach, marveling at the snow-covered Rockies along the way. In the afternoon, take the Banff Gondola to the summit of Sulphur Mountain for breathtaking panoramic views of the snowy mountains, valley, and the surrounding regions. Then, visit Bow River for serene winter scenes and head to Surprise Corner for an iconic view of the Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel against a backdrop of snow-capped peaks.
After breakfast, head to the world-famous Lake Louise to admire the frozen turquoise lake surrounded by majestic mountains. Then, travel to Yoho National Park to visit Emerald Lake, where the tranquil winter wonderland is perfect for enjoying the serene scenery. In the afternoon, witness the impressive Natural Bridge, where the frozen Kicking Horse River has carved a stunning rock formation. Return to Banff and enjoy free time exploring Banff Avenue, lined with shops, boutiques, and cafes offering a delightful winter shopping experience. Dine at one of Banff’s many restaurants at your own expense, savoring a cozy meal after your day of winter adventures.
After breakfast, bid farewell to Banff as you transfer to Calgary for your flight to Vancouver. From there, connect to your flight back to Singapore, carrying memories of the Northern Lights and Canadian Rockies.
