Destination- ARCTIC - 10D7N AUTUMN NORTHERN LIGHTS IN FINLAND & NORWAY (SEPT-OCT)
Assemble at the airport and take-off to the vibrant seaside city of Helsinki, capital of Finland.
Upon arrival, join a local guide for a city tour. Drive past Market Square, experience its vibrant ambiance, then visit Senate Square for neoclassical marvels like Helsinki Cathedral, the Government Palace, the National Library of Finland, and the University of Helsinki. Explore the Sibelius Monument honoring composer Jean Sibelius. Visit Temppeliaukio Church, nicknamed the 'Rock Church' for its naturally rock-crafted interior walls.
Note: If Temppeliaukio Church is closed, we will stop for a photo opportunity.
Enjoy the day free at leisure to explore Helsinki on your own, where there’s plenty to do and see. You may wish to take up an optional excursion to Tallinn, the capital city of Estonia, via ferry for the rich cultural scene and the stunning medieval and historical structures.
Take a domestic flight to Ivalo, a small village in Inari, Finland, housing Europe's northernmost airport. Drive north to Kirkenes in Norway, known for its king crab. Stay at Gamme Cabins, inspired by traditional hunting and fishing huts found in Lapland's wilderness. Visit Snowhotel 365, the first hotel made of snow and ice open year-round. Explore the Reindeer & Husky Farm to feed reindeer and interact with Huskies and their puppies.
Experience an exhilarating King Crab Safari on a RIB Boat after breakfast. Catch the impressive Arctic King Crab and relish the taste of freshly cooked, delicious king crabs weighing up to 15 kilograms. After lunch, drive through Norway's beautiful mountains and crystal-blue fjords before returning to Saariselka, Finland, crossing the border. In the evening, join a Quad Bike Aurora Hunt for a magical experience in the darkness.
Note: Participants on the RIB Boat must be min 12yo, and taller than 140 cm. Quad bike activity is not for children under 5yo. 2 guests share 1 quad bike. Single (non-shared) quad bike is available with 80€ (2.5h) supplement per person. In case of unfavorable weather conditions, an alternative activity may be substituted for the Quad Bike experience.
Today, we'll arrive at the renowned Kakslauttanen Arctic Resort. Experience the famous Kakslauttanen Glass Igloo to understand its unparalleled allure. This afternoon, prepare for a night of wonder as you stay in a cozy and distinctive Kelo Glass Igloo for tonight's lodging. Marvel at the clear starry skies while nestled in a warm, comfortable bed, and admire the pristine beauty of the surroundings.
Experience your childhood dreams as we journey to Rovaniemi, Santa Claus' official hometown and a land of fairytales. Visit Santa Claus Village to explore souvenir shops and send a postcard from the Santa’s Main Post Office to receive a special Arctic Circle stamp. Receive an Arctic Circle Crossing Certificate as proof of your journey. Meet Santa Claus at the Christmas House and capture a lasting memory in a high-quality photo. Tonight, join a Northern Lights Hunt with a Local Professional Photographer to seek out the mystical phenomenon. Conclude the day at our private Northern Lights Camp with great Arctic nature photos, traditional Lappish sausage, and hot berry juice, whether or not the lights appear.
Note: The tour manager will forward you the free digital copies within 7-10 days after the tour. The appearance of the Northern Lights cannot be guaranteed as it is a naturally occurring phenomenon and is subject to weather conditions.
Enjoy a free day in Rovaniemi where there are a lot of activities waiting for you to choose and join! Join a day tour to the Ranua Wildlife Park, or experience Fat E-biking in the wilderness. There is certainly something for everyone to do.
After breakfast, enjoy the rest of the time at leisure, before transferring to the airport for your flight home.
